This Privacy Policy applies to RestartWorks Notes ("Notes") and all related applications operated by Discovery Coaching, LLC (collectively, the "Services"). By using Notes, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described here. This Policy works together with our Terms of Service — together they make up your full agreement with us.

1. What We Collect

Account information (email, name, payment details via Stripe)
Note content: text transcripts of your recordings and the AI-generated summaries built from them, plus any title you give a note
Usage data (pages visited, features used, timestamps, free-tier note count)
Technical data (IP address, browser type, device info)

2. Your Voice Recording, Specifically

We do not upload or store your raw audio. Notes transcribes what you say using your browser's built-in speech recognition as you record, and only sends the resulting text transcript to our servers. The audio itself is never uploaded to or saved on Notes' servers.

Depending on which browser you use, converting your speech to text may itself involve sending audio to your browser vendor's servers for processing — for example, Chrome's built-in speech recognition is provided by Google, under Google's own privacy policy, not ours. This happens between your device and your browser vendor; Notes does not receive or store that audio at any point.

3. How We Use It

To transcribe your recording into text (via your browser, as above) and generate an AI summary from that text (via Anthropic's Claude API, see below)
To provide and improve the Services
To communicate with you (account updates, support)
To analyze usage and fix bugs
To comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

4. Third-Party Services

Anthropic (Claude AI): The text transcript of your note is sent to Anthropic's API to generate your AI summary. Anthropic's privacy policy applies to this processing.
Your browser's speech recognition provider (e.g., Google, for Chrome): processes your voice audio into text on our behalf, under that provider's own privacy policy — see Section 2.
Stripe: Payment processing for the Notes+ tier. Stripe's privacy policy applies. We do not store full payment card numbers.
Google and Microsoft: If you sign in using Google or Microsoft, we receive basic profile information (such as your email and name) to create and authenticate your account. Their respective privacy policies apply.

5. Data Security and Breach

Data Security and Breach — Read Carefully: We take reasonable measures to protect your information. Data transmitted between your device and the Services is encrypted in transit using industry-standard SSL/TLS. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot and do not guarantee the absolute security of your information.

No Liability for Data Breach: To the fullest extent permitted by law, you acknowledge and agree that Discovery Coaching, LLC, David Killion, and their respective officers, employees, contractors, agents, and affiliates (the "Released Parties") will not be liable for any unauthorized access to, acquisition of, disclosure of, alteration of, loss of, or use of your information resulting from any security incident, data breach, hacking, intrusion, system failure, or act of any third party, whether or not such event was foreseeable, and even if a Released Party was advised of the possibility of such an event.

This section is in addition to, and does not limit, the disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification provisions in our Terms of Service, which also apply to all information you provide.

6. Data Retention

We retain your notes as long as your account is active. You may delete individual notes at any time from within the app, or request deletion of your entire account and its data by contacting us.

7. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us at dave@thekillions.com. We will respond within 30 days.

8. Do Not Track

We do not currently respond to Do Not Track signals.

9. Children

The Services are not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If we learn we have collected data from a child, we will delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via email or an in-app notice at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
